Action has been finally taken against the hospital that caused actor ’s newborn twins to overdose on heparin (blood thinner). The California Department of Public Health has fined Cedars-Sinai Medical Center $25,000 US over the almost deadly incident. Quad and his wife Kimberly have filed a separate lawsuit against the pharmaceutical company. According to recent reports, the hospital admitted to the mistake of administration 1000x times the regular amount of blood thinner to the premature twins. The hospital has since publicly apologized for the traumatic event and is claiming to provide staff with more training and review its procedures regarding high-risk drugs. Staff involved in the incident have also been disciplined.

        Isn’t that enough? I mean it’s terrible what occurred but accidents do happen… It’s not like they need more money!?! I don’t think it’s the pharmaceutical companies problem that some dumba$$tech at the hospital wasn’t trained properly and didn’t know what they were doing!?!…

          The three-week old twins of actor Dennis Quaid and his wife Kimberly Quaid are still fighting for their lives in the ICU of the Los Angeles hospital where they were given an overdose of Heparin last week.

            Heparin is a blood thinner and can cause major internal bleeding if a patient receives to much of it. Doctors would of had to use a drug like Protamine sulfate to reverse the anticoagulant effects of the blood thinner.
